Our bee honeys

Since honey is an ancient product, it has been used for different purposes throughout the history of mankind. In fact, it is believed to be the oldest medicine both for use in serious illnesses and to heal superficial wounds.

In addition, it has currently been discovered that it has different compounds, including vitamins, minerals and proteins, which can provide us with multiple physical, nutritional and therapeutic benefits, since it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics, which have served to treat different diseases, burns, skin wounds and even gastrointestinal problems.

The long road of worker bees

Despite the popularity of honey, the work carried out by bees to achieve its production is often unknown. It is a long and complex path in which a lot of energy is invested. In principle, the so-called worker bees collect nectar from flowers (a crystalline liquid), which is distributed until it reaches a hive. There, the local bees are dedicated to depositing it in a cell, where they carry out a process of lowering the humidity and the decomposition of the sugars, thanks to which, in a few days, the nectar becomes a digestible product that we know as bee honey.

The unique qualities of honey

Honey is an extremely versatile product, whose properties and characteristics have led to its integration into different areas, in addition to health and nutrition. Thanks to its unique flavor, it has been used in countless recipes both in gastronomy and in beer and cocktails, allowing dishes and drinks to have a unique presentation and tasting. In food, honey is usually a part of breakfasts, but this product can be used in an endless number of dishes at lunch and dinner. On the other hand, the cosmetic industry has taken advantage of its many benefits to develop makeup and skin care products.
